Why I Like MG2 So Much

Some friends promoted MG to me and I like it. Then there was MG2 and I heard that the story is not good. I never thought of watching MG2 until the vcds appeared in front of my eyes. Since I'm quite free, I decided to watch it and somehow I fall madly in love with MG2. What follows is a lengthy article but this is written only because I like MG2 so much!

1.Ah Si-Yesha love story
I found their love story very very sweet. At first Ah Si hated Yesha, then they became friends and finally they fell in love. This might sound like a typical love story but they acted their role so perfectly-how they developed the feelings was so genuine. There were lots of touching scenes which made me cry everytime I watch them. Michelle may not acted as good in HK dramas but for me, she is indeed a talented actress in MG2. Her expressions were deep and she did an excellent job in potraying Yesha.

My fav moments:
*Yesha slept on Ah Si's lap & he scolded her for doing dangerous things
*When they decorated the room in the attic
*Preparation leading to the romantic dinner-Ah Si checks his cooking every 10 mins, notes around the room telling Yesha to wear a gown and of course the speech by Ah Si
*Ah Si looked for Yesha's medicine barefooted and the train scene
*Ah Si waited for Yesha to come home where Yesha tried to drive him away by saying,'I hate people who interferes with me, minding my business & scolding me' but what Ah Si replied made her smile instead (this scene is really sweet) & everything that followed until dinner
*Ah Si made a drawing room for Yesha & said,'You don't have to thank me, just as long as you can feel happy' and Yesha cried (I was touched!)
*Ah Si whispered to Yesha about the breakfast car preparation & hugged her in the garden
*When Ah Si regained his memory and knew about Yesha's illness, she said, 'I'm being selfish because I'll be leaving but leaving nothing behind for you.' Ah Si replied,'You gave me memories and no one can take that away.'(Aww..truly sentimental!)
*Definitely the letter from Yesha to Sa Ge

With everything that they went through, it's just sad that they didn't end up together. :( At times I'm mad at Yesha because she only thinks about SC and creates chances for her. She is too nice & sacrifice a lot
for others and yet F3 misunderstood her. Luckily she had the ever understanding Sa Ge. Yesha should think about her own happiness too. Giving back Ah Si to SC when Ah Si is in love with Yesha is just not
the right thing to do. When Ah Si regained his memory, it's understandable that he's confused between Yesha & SC but he seemed to forgot how much he loves Yesha, how he tried so hard & did lots of things for Yesha just to make her happy. For me, he loves Yesha in a different way than SC. His love for Yesha is deeper & stronger, it's a more mature kind of love. That's why I think Ah Si & Yesha should be together. I totally agree with David in 'My take on Michelle in MG2 & MG2 in general' article, Ah Si's reaction after knowing a suitable bone marrow was found is just unacceptable, as if he doesn't want Yesha to live. After everything that Yesha did in supporting him & wasted her life away (as said by Ah Si in his dinner speech), to help finding his past, starting a new life and in times he was down & angry, this is what she got in return. How ungrateful Ah Si!

2. The quotes
There are many good quotes which we can apply in our everyday life. They can be some sort of motivation that make us stronger & tougher in facing life challenges. Some of the best quotes are written in the 'Best Quotes' topic. One of my fav: 'I suddenly thought it through. I need to continue living. I want to continue living. Moreover, I shouldn’t only be needing, only wanting, I should be even more enthusiastically fighting for it!'(said by Yesha in the letter) I'm happy that Yesha chooses to continue living & at the same time a reminder for me to fight for what I want & don't give up.

3.The soundtrack
I heard 'All by myself' many times before but never quite the same as I heard in MG2. It suits the story in which it gives some feel of sadness. 'When I see you smile' really matches the train scene and I like the background music when Yesha kissed Ah Si. (the suddenly ascending music) I even found the spanish song (Yo Te Amo) romantic & Close To You dedicated by Qing He touching.

4.Other elements
MG2 revolves around the meteor ring's curse which fits the plot perfectly & make the story more interesting. The methapors used also adds colour to the story-'Brave Yesha star', 'stray dog', all the back potraits of Ah Si & Yesha

Thank you very much for bearing with me. I know that I'm really behind because MG2 was released in 2002 and only now I'm excited about the story haha! Anyway, I feel happy that this website gives me the
platform to express my thoughts. :) Cheers!
