My take on Michelle in MG2 and MG2 in general

I thought Michelle did a really convincing job portraying Ye Sha, a character who epitomized goodness of heart and freedom of spirit. Michelle had to perform a myriad of emotions and I came away impressed with her acting ability.

MG2, although not as good as MG1, really let loose on a dizzying array of ironies and symbolisms (the balloons, the meteor rings, the "stray dog", the "Brave Ye Sha" star, just to name a few). Even though I enjoyed it, I do have some complaints about the story, however. The ending was quite unrealistic- after regaining his memory DMS picked Shan Cai over Ye Sha. What was he smoking? With all that Ye Sha did for him, all her sacrifices and love came up second place to someone whom he had recently rejected and even disdained? Er... yeah right.

I also didn't like the way Ye Sha, a source of constant positives throughout much of the drama, ended up so depressed in her last "real" appearance. And what's with DMS not even trying to convince Ye Sha to want to continue to live? That just didn't make sense- what just because Ye Sha said she didn't want to go to a hospital? If not out of love to convince and encourage a person to live on what about friendship or even... common courtesy??? Thankfully later on we found out that Ye Sha came to her senses and chose to fight and live on. But DMS's attitude was a total flip-flop compared to, for example, in chapter 10 he was very angry at Ye Sha for refusing to go with him to the hospital after she had fainted in pain. And how about the reaction (or lack there of) DMS had when Sha Ge broke the news that there was a bone marrow match? Ridiculous- what was his problem??? I mean even a stranger would've applauded such news. It was like he had amnesia once again but this time he forgot everything that had happened between him and Ye Sha.

Overall the last couple of episodes just seemed rushed- perhaps a direct reflection of a production that had dragged on for too long. From what I heard filming was supposed to take 4 months but instead lasted twice as long. Personally I preferred the first 1/3 of the show as the best part (DMS trying to rediscover himself, the growing bond between DMS and Ye Sha, the anticipation of DMS' encounters with F3 and Shan Cai). The sweetest moment of MG2? It's gotta be Ah Sing's romantic appreciation dinner and speech for Ye Sha, with the display of F3 and Chin He's friendship for Shan Cai during Valentine's day a close second. The most touching? I think Sha Ge's plea to DMS to continue to love Ye Sha in episode 27 and the ensuing scene between Ye Sha and DMS were especially moving.

This is just my take- I welcome any comments :-).
