Film Talk - Fear of Intimacy - Michelle Saram Interview

Posted on Sunday, May 09 @ 03:42:34 CDT by david

General News on Michelle This is a real treat if you've never listened to Michelle speak English at length :-).

[excerpt] Fear of Intimacy also contains a recurring theme – that women should not be left in the streets alone.

“I guess I can understand how a feminist might say ‘I totally hate how women are depicted’ But at the same time, I don’t think this is how women are or how women are supposed to be. This is ‘a’ type of woman in ‘a’ type of situation” argues Michelle Saram, who plays the role of a journalist in Fear of Intimacy.

And it’s a role she can relate to quite easily.

“When I was still in school, I was interning at a fashion magazine. At that time, I remember, I knew nothing about the business and I was thrown in and sort of figured out a way to do it. Its interesting that this character kind of does that. But she does it really well” added the Singaporean actress.
